I’ve been on a break.
Paintings have been left in flux …

This blog has been silent …
But it hasn’t felt like a break. In fact it has felt quite tough. I have been powering through two projects which needed intense focus and determination and, in my case, courage: a new website and a new design for The Colour Potential cards.
I permanently battle with fear of being artistically exposed, of being ridiculed, of being criticised. But how do I sell my paintings, promote my cards, if I do not make myself visible? And so last year became the year that I took a stand … on myself.
I had a website designed from scratch. A proper website with a shopping cart and everything(!) Go big or Go home. The logo alone took a month of miniature decisions and alterations. The building of the website took months. And this was me, not the designers and builders. Me dragging my feet, me wanting it all to go away, me longing to get back under the duvet. The new design for the Colour Potential cards was a similar experience.
And suddenly they appeared fully formed, and are wonderful! The website is a colour-filled, bright, user-friendly shop window and the cards are bigger and clearer and more of a statement than they ever were before. I feel supported, proud and eager to be out there.
I particularly love my new website logo.
And the newly designed Colour Potential Deck is fabulous.

I am thrilled with both the website and the cards.
I feel ready to put my head above the parapet.
It’s time to let my true colours fly …

It’s lovely to hear your articulation of what I think so many creatives feel, and how you faced it. It may sound trite but the journey of a thousand miles starts with one step, and isn’t that so true – finding the power, strength and certainty to take that first step.Thank you for stepping forward. (And incidentally your cards remain a daily fixture in my life, always so incredibly helpful.)

I’ve got them, thank you Francesca, they’re lovely, very good quality – my first card was ‘trust’ which seemed absolutely right after just getting back from our second hydrotherapy session with my dog, which went very well, but is also very emotional to see how he’s doing.
