Red! The Colour of Shock!

How do you feel about red? Is it a colour you embrace? Or does it scare you slightly? Would you wear it? Would you have your house painted in it? Would you choose a car in that colour?

Red is the colour of warning. It is the colour of lowest vibration and longest wavelength in the spectrum of colours that human beings can access. It is also the colour of shock.

To tell you more, here is a short video

I researched a lot about colour when writing the handbook to accompany The Colour Potential Cards. Libraries used to be my happy place, surrounded by the smell of all those books, the tantalising promise of all that beguiling information. I wanted to research every colour I intended to use in the card deck and share that information because I found it thrilling. As a result each of the 17 colours I have used for the deck has a page in the handbook outlining a history of that colour’s role in politics, world religions and language.

I could have written the whole book just on red, it is a colour of such power, symbolism and popularity.

Tell me how you feel about red.

  1. It’s very nice to see and hear you Francesca! I was never a fan of red and I think it’s because I didn’t have the confidence for it in my younger years. I still don’t have many red things, but I was so entranced by a blouse someone was wearing on TV the other week that I did a whole search for red clothes online…I haven’t bought any yet, but I’m sure I will!

  2. Oh, Andrea, I love and appreciate your comments so!
It really is a colour that requires confidence. When I had my colours done years ago by a shaman(!), she told me that anyone can wear red provided it is the right shade. I need a blue based red, if too yellow I look sallow. I might dare to suggest that you might be the same. How exciting! Let me know how you get on. ❤️❤️
